WELCOME TO SPARK MAGIC
Science Is Better When You
Can See It in Action
Spark Magic Science & DIY is a place for colorful experiments, approachable STEM activities and hands-on science projects made with clear steps and familiar materials.
I’m Emily Carter, Founder & STEM Educator. Our goal is simple: make scientific ideas easier to explore by turning them into projects you can build, test, observe and enjoy.

WHY THIS SITE EXISTS
Making Science Easier to Explore

You don’t need a complicated laboratory to explore interesting science. Many useful experiments begin with familiar materials, a good question and a willingness to test what happens next.
Spark Magic brings those ideas together through approachable DIY projects designed around observation, experimentation and hands-on learning.
Whether you’re exploring color, water, crystals, kitchen science or a simple STEM build, we want every project to give you a clearer understanding of what you’re doing and what you can observe along the way.
MEET EMILY
Hi, I’m Emily!
I created Spark Magic to make hands-on science feel approachable, practical and exciting.
I love projects that let you actually see an idea in action — colors moving through water, crystals forming over time, simple reactions bubbling to life, or everyday materials becoming part of a STEM challenge.
Here, I focus on household science, chemistry demonstrations, crystal growing and approachable STEM activities. The goal isn’t to make science complicated. It’s to give you a clear place to start, simple materials to work with and a project that encourages you to observe what happens.

How We Create Spark Magic Projects
01
Make the activity clear
Our content is built to make hands-on science easier to follow and understand. We focus on clear materials, practical steps, useful observations and beginner-friendly explanations.
02
Explain what you can observe
Where a project involves science concepts, our goal is to explain what readers can observe without turning a simple hands-on activity into an unnecessarily complicated lesson.
03
Identify the kind of project
We work to distinguish between a science experiment, a STEM activity and a science-inspired craft so readers know what kind of project they’re exploring.
04
Keep explanations approachable
Clear materials, practical steps and useful observations give readers a place to start and help them understand what happens along the way.
